President Lee in a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso on Saturday (Apr. 11) said that the Korea-Japan relations should not falter because of a wrong understanding of history.
The meeting was held at the Dusitani hotel in Pattaya.

The President asked Japan to give careful consideration to a correct understanding of history, while emphasizing a future-oriented relationship between the two countries, according to Cheong Wa Dae.

President Lee stressed the need to seek close bilateral cooperation to cope with the North''s latest launch of a long-range rocket. North Korea should be given a message at the earliest possible moment that mistaken action would lead to correspondingly bad results, Lee added.

Prime Minister Aso stressed that the UN Security Council should send a stronger message to North Korea and asked President Lee for support in this regard.
