The President Lee and students of Vietnam National University |
President Lee and First Lady Kim met some 40 students of Vietnam National University who are majoring in Korean studies and Korean language, and talked about various issues, including cultural exchanges between young people in Korea and Vietnam.
The President explained to the students about the development process of Korea and advised them to front up to whatever challenges they may encounter in the future. He also said that deeper mutual understanding between the young people of both countries would significantly enhance bilateral relations.
During the talk, the President emphasized the special affinity between Korea and Vietnam and promised to provide any assistance to foster “win-win” development” for the two nations.
Before meeting the students, Lee paid a visit to a Vietnamese mobile phone factory owned by Samsung Electronics and encouraged the employees there.
Also in an interview with Vietnam''s state-owned VTV, the President said he would try to elevate bilateral relations between the two countries from “comprehensive partnership” to “strategic cooperative partnership” through the bilateral summit scheduled on Oct. 21.
