I join all Koreans in congratulating you on winning the gold medal in the ladies’ single figure skating event in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

Today, the beads of sweat you have shed thus far have finally come to fruition and glory. Your passion and indomitable spirit has led to victory and brought overwhelming emotion and inexpressible joy to all Koreans.

In particular, the gold medal is impressive because you set new world records in both the short program and free skating.

Once again, I congratulate you on becoming the heroine of the Vancouver Olympics. I appreciate your outstanding performance that has greatly elevated the prestige of Korea and the Korean people.
