The President nominated former Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do Kim Tae-ho as the new Prime Minister today.
The President also nominated seven candidates for cabinet positions and appointed four minister/vice-minister level officials. They include Vice Minister of Education, Science and Technology Lee Ju-ho as Minister of Education, Science and Technology; Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Shin Jae-min as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Grand National Party lawmaker Yoo Jeong-bok as Minister for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; former Vice Minister of Knowledge Economy Lee Jae-hoon as Minister of Knowledge Economy; Grand National Party lawmaker Chin Soo-hee as Minister of Health and Welfare; former Senior Secretary to the President for State Affairs Planning Bahk Jae-wan as Minister of Employment and Labor; and Grand National Party lawmaker Lee Jae-oh as Minister for Special Affairs.
In addition, the President appointed former Vice Minister of Labor Jeong Jong-su as Chairperson of the National Labor Relations Commission; former Vice Minister of Knowledge Economy Rim Che-min as Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office; Chairman Jeong Sun-tae of the Commission on Verification and Support for the Victims of Forced Mobilization under Japanese Colonialism in Korea as Minister of Government Legislation; and Deputy Commissioner of the National Tax Service Lee Hyun-dong as Commissioner of the National Tax Service.
