President Alan Gabriel García Pérez of the Republic of Peru is scheduled to make an official visit to Korea November 14-16 at the invitation of the President.
The Presidents and García will hold a summit in the morning of November 15 to have in-depth discussions on ways to promote substantive bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues, including political affairs, trade and investment and development as well as collaboration in the field of resources and energy. Importantly, the President is expected to call upon the Peruvian President for his Government’s support for Korean businesses so that they can advance into infrastructure construction as well as the energy and resources industries in the Latin American country. In addition, the two Presidents will look on as their trade ministers initial the Free Trade Agreement between Korea and Peru, which was concluded in August this year.
During his stay in Korea, President García is scheduled to tour the Ulsan Petrochemical Industrial Complex. He will also attend a luncheon hosted by the CEOs of Korean businesses that have advanced into resources development and infrastructure in Peru. The President will listen to what the CEOs have to say and ask business leaders to make investments in Peru.
As President García also visited Korea last year, his activities during this his second visit are expected to take the Korea-Peru relationship to new heights.
