President Lee Myung-bak is scheduled to visit Kyoto, Japan December 17-18 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda. President Lee will have an informal meeting with Korean residents there in the afternoon of December 17 and hold a summit with Prime Minister Noda the next morning.

At the summit, the two leaders will exchange views on a wide range of topics of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, issues concerning North Korea and collaboration at the regional and international level.

The President’s tour is part of the shuttle diplomacy between the leaders of the two countries. Prime Minister Noda visited Seoul October 18-19 for his first talks with President Lee since he took office on September 2.
