President Lee and First Lady in IndonesiaPresident Lee Myung-bak arrived in Indonesia''s capital city Jakarta early Friday (Mar. 6) for his three-day visit to the country, including the summit with his counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
President Lee will announce his New Asia Plan during his stay there, according to Cheong Wa Dae. Korea''s Asian diplomacy has been focused on Japan and China, but it will broaden to include southeastern, southwestern and central Asia, and the Pacific region as well, the office said.
Upon attending an official welcoming ceremony at the Indonesian presidential palace, President Lee will have a summit meeting with President Yudhoyono.
The two leaders will focus on the development of the bio-energy industry and raw materials, among other bilateral issues.
They will also delve into global issues, including energy security, climate change and the current unprecedented financial crisis.
