President Lee said the government would deal with N. Korea''s provocation in a stern and resolute manner, through his radio address on Monday (Apr. 6).
The President said that people should and would push through the economic difficulties despite the security threat. N. Korea''s thoughtless rocket launch, which came contrary to the wishes of many countries, is unjustifiable in any circumstances, Lee said.

Regarding last week''s G20 summit in London, Lee highlighted the unprecedented agreement made by both advanced and emerging economies. When the agreement is implemented well, the world economy is sure to get back to its original level earlier than expected, he added.

The President also emphasized the significant role Korea played at the G20 meeting. He said that Korea, as co-chair of the meeting, set agenda items for the main discussion and helped the participating members iron out their different positions.

He said in particular that Korea''s unceasing will to reject trade protectionism was well received through the G20 meeting''s first (Washington) and second (London) rounds and was finally included in the meeting''s joint agreement.

As to the Korea-U.S. meeting that took place on the sidelines of the London summit, Lee expressed satisfaction, saying that U.S. President Obama saw eye to eye with Lee on advancing KORUS FTA talks and the strengthening of the Korea-U.S. alliance.

The video file of the biweekly presidential radio address will be put up on YouTube.com, along with English subtitles as of today, Cheong Wa Dae said.
