First Lady Kim Yoon-ok, who is currently accompanying President Lee Myung-bak at the 17th APEC Summit in Singapore, made a visit to the Singapore Korean School on Saturday (Nov. 14).

Kim listened to a musical performance by elementary students and praised the school staff for their continuous efforts to improve the learning environment despite the challenging conditions of being overseas. She asked the teachers to keep up their efforts to help young students become global talents.

Also at the staff encouragement session held at the Korean Embassy in Singapore, Kim further praised the efforts of the spouses of embassy workers who are working hard to upgrade Korea-Singapore relations and improve the status of the Korean community there. She also called for them to be at the forefront of further advancing the image of Korea through the promotion of traditional Korean culture such as Hansik (Korean cuisine).
