King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan is scheduled to make a state visit to Korea from November 30 to December 2 at the invitation of President Lee Myung-bak.
President Lee and King Abdullah II will hold a summit on December 1 and discuss issues of common interest between the two countries. They will include ways for Korean businesses to participate in Jordan’s large-scale national projects, such as construction of the grand waterway between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea and nuclear power plants. The two leaders will also talk about nuclear cooperation and ways to work together in the international arena.
This will be the King’s fourth visit. He first visited Korea in 1996 before his enthronement as the King of Jordan followed by a state visit in 1999 and a working visit in 2004. The Jordanian King will be accompanied by a delegation of 70 persons, composed of royal family members, including Prince Feisal and Princess Alia, eight Cabinet minister-level officials, and other dignitaries.
