On the occasion of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s visit to Seoul, the Japanese Government will return five volumes of historically and symbolically important texts to Korea, which are listed among 1,205 books in an agreement on Japan’s return of ancient Korean texts to Seoul that took effect June 10, 2011. The texts to be returned this time include three volumes of the Joseon Wangjo Uigwe (Royal Protocols of the Dynasty of Joseon), which record and prescribe the major ceremonies and rites of the royal family during the Joseon period through prose and illustations.
The books are being delivered to Korea on the occasion of the Korea-Japan summit, which is scheduled for tomorrow.
