The President, currently visiting Russia, had a meeting with leading Russian businessmen from 6pm to 7pm on September, 9 (Russian Time) at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow.

The President said that with the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the two countries have reinforced their economic cooperation and that it is encouraging that they cooperate with each other over a range of industries, including gas, energy, motors, and shipbuilding.

The President asked to expand cooperation, particularly in the area of economic modernization, one of Russia''s top priorities for this year.

He also requested that Russia invest in Korea more actively in the future.

The Russian businessmen praised the Korean government for its effective response to the economic crisis and strongly agreed for the need to reinforce cooperation between the two countries.
