The President met with Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on October 21 at Cheong Wa Dae.
At the meeting, the President discussed cooperation measures to ensure the success of next month’s G20 Seoul Summit with Director Strauss-Kahn.
The President said that he highly valued the IMF’s contributions to the key agendas of the G20, including building a global financial security network and establishing a cooperative structure for sustainable balanced growth. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation to ensure a successful outcome at the G20 Seoul Summit.

The President also said the cooperation between Korea and the IMF has become even more solid, and expressed his hope that both parties can maintain the same level of cooperation after the G20 Seoul Summit ends.
Strauss-Khan agreed that the IMF will cooperate with Korea to ensure the summit results in the establishment of a global financial security network, along with IMF reforms and other key agenda items.
The President further plans to meet with World Bank President Robert B. Zoellic and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría to discuss ways to cooperate for the success of G20 Seoul Summit.
